Pathfinder Overview
Pathfinder International is a global leader in sexual and reproductive health. We place reproductive health care at the center of all that we do—believing that it is not only a fundamental human right, but is critical for expanding life opportunities for women, families, communities, and nations, and paving the way for transformations in environmental stewardship, decreases in population pressures, and innovations in poverty reduction. Pathfinder provides women, men, and adolescents with a range of quality health services—from contraception and maternal care to HIV prevention and AIDS care and treatment. Pathfinder strives to strengthen access to family planning, ensure availability of safe abortion services and post-abortion care, advocate for sound reproductive health policies, and, through all of our work, improve the rights and lives of the people we serve.
Program Overview
Evidence to Action for Strengthened Family Planning and Reproductive Health Services for Women and Girls (E2A) is USAID’s global flagship project for strengthening quality family planning/reproductive health (FP/RH) service delivery. The project is designed to reduce unmet need for FP by implementing and scaling up best practices to ensure that women and girls receive – and use – quality services through all stages of the reproductive life cycle. By promoting healthy FP/RH behaviors, gender equality, and compelling evidence for FP use, E2A directly supports global FP/RH initiatives such as: Accelerating Progress (FP2020); Global Strategy for Women’s Children’s and Adolescents’ health (2016-2030) (UN); Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (UN); and Ending Preventable Maternal Mortality: USAID Maternal Health Vision for Action Evidence for Strategic Approaches (USAID). The project, which began in 2011, will continue until September 2019. The project is led by Pathfinder International in partnership with ExpandNet, IntraHealth International, Management Sciences for Health, and PATH.
