JOB BRIEF

The Finance and Administration Manager will oversee finance, procurement, administration, and logistics for the Bangui Office. This is a full-time (40 hour/week) position for five months based in USIP’s Bangui Office. Occasional domestic or regional travel may be required.

This is a Fixed-Time Term Personal Services Contractor position.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage CAR budgets and financial planning;
• Process invoices;
• Reconcile receipts and cash advances
• Provide cash analysis for all CAR programs;
• Oversee all CAR finances;
• Manage financial documentation for the CAR Office;
• Oversee all contract management;
• Provide regular financial reports on all CAR programs to USIP HQ and to funders;
• Serve as the main point of contact for the monthly budget meetings with the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS); provide support to ECCAS financial reporting as needed (monthly financial reports and advance requests);
• Ensure the continuous compliance, implementation, and development of all financial and administrative policies and procedures;
• Ensure proper internal controls are observed at all times;
• Streamline office processes to increase operational efficiency and productivity;
• Ensure all activities related to event finances are performed;
• Develop and maintain respectful and strong working relationships with all staff and partners;
• Provide regular staff training on financial policies and procedures;
• Travel to USIP events to assist with financial management, or delegate and manage such tasks;
• Perform other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fluency in French and proficiency in English
  • 3-5 years of experience in a financial/administrative role for an international organization
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining strong working relationships with partners
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Word; and Internet-based financial databases
  • Strong coordination, communication, and collaboration skills.

Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
